OEM Tail Pipe Hence More Power
OEM Tail Pipe Hence More Power
Last weekend I re-installed the OEM tail pipe. I gained back some more low end HP/TQ. I am much happier with my new set up. I kept the Warpspeed Y, SS B-pipe.Amazing it actually has a nice growl when I get on it. The best part is it doesn't attract the Boyz in Blue. Unless you have forced induction I personally thing a hollow tail pipe is useless.
jime says he gets better/more consistant times with the stock muffler installed. its been proven that the stock muffler is only robbing a couple of HP, so all a stright through muff is good for in reality is noise. modding the whole exhaust and running the stock muffler really is the best solution for a daily driver.
This was the deciding factor on why I changed back to stock. Last summer I got pulled over by a State Trooper for my tinted windows. "In NH it is Illegal to have the front Passenger and Driver windows tinted, Unless you have a medical waiver." Which by the way you have to get renewed every 2 yrs (PITA). Well I had the waiver, the
must not of got
for awhile and wanted to stick it to me. He picked out my exhaust and wrote me for defective equipment. To make a long story short my insurance (Progressive) counts this as a moving violation and it made my rates go up $300 a year. This won't come off for I believe 4 years.
Mine needs replacing....Budget has an OE replacement that is of alluminized steel for $140. Does anyone have the setup of a Budget y and b-pipe, with an oem muffler and cat? I want to keep the noise level down cruising at 2500 rpm.
