99 owners with Bose that know how to fix it

Anyone know how to fix the audio on a 99 Bose? The how to section only has the older 95-98 Bose instructions, the 99 is totally different. I fixed the display on my 96, but when I hooked up the 99 it worked but no sound. I know it's the headunit beacause my 96 Bose plays fine and now the display works. If you know what I need to fix on the 99 to make the audio work please tell me. Everything functions on the 99, cd, radio, etc it just has no sound... thanks everyone

Check this web page out.

I have been experiencing a lot of cd skip lately. I bought a cd cleaner/scratch repair unit. I seemed to help.

Did you guys read?.......96 Bose works perfect installed...the 99 works but has no audio. It is the headunit, not a wiring, speaker, or amps they all work with the 96. It is the same plugs on both...I know it is a resistor inside the radio, just don't have any diagrams. If anyone can fix an audio problem on the 99 Bose please pm or post here.

Tim, may I ask why you are using a '99 instead of just using a '96 thru '98 which would work on your car?

All 4th gens with Bose and all 1st gen I30s have the same plugs for all years. I want the 99 to work because it looks better, has a bigger display, clock, bigger buttons, etc. I know how to fix 95-98 radio, it is on the how to section, and how I fixed my 96 display. My 96 works fine I just want to fix my 99 Bose with no audio problem if I can before I return it. It functions in all areas except sound....just wanted to fix it if it is as easy as the 95-98s to fix.
