dynomax muffler, welding or clamping?

I bought a dynomax muffler (model # 17747, inlet/outlet size are 2.25") for my Maxi.
Since this is an universal muffler, you have to cut the stock pipe and put it together when you install it.
I called several auto repair shops to install it for me and they said that they can't do it. So I decided to install it myself. I searched it couple hours in the forum. my questions are:

1. which one is better either welding or clamping?

2. is it ok to do with clamping?

3. if #2 is ok, what size and kind of clamp should I get?
(Stock pipe size is 2.25" and New muffler inlet is 2.25")
do I have to get same size of stock and new muffler inlet size or
get little bigger size (e.g. 2.5")?

4. if #2 is ok, are there any good clamp website?
I am looking at this website
( http://stores.channeladvisor.com/ver...sports/Clamps/ ) and looks good to me.
5. I bought a welding liquid for high temp (2400 'F) from Autozone, has anyone used this one before? working good?
I need some advice

thanks

I have my stock exchaust clamped on. I used one of those coupler clamps and it gets the job done. About every 3 months I have to climb under my car and retighten it though. I didn't use the welding liquid though. The guys at autozone told me I shouldn't need it. But they work at autozone so who knows if they know anything.

All in all, it works and you have to spend barely any money.

Spend the $30 and go to a muffler shop and have it welded on. It's quick, easy and reliable

Clamping sounds kind of sketchy to me, I would go for the weld like Matt said.

Clamping it on sucks always comes loose and you get a leak. You need hangers welded on anyway....so just weld it on the b pipe at the same time. Why won't anywhere do it??? no custom shops near you???

you can clamp it temporarily, but you should get it welded soon as possible. The shops probaly dont want to do it for you because they wont make much money off of it, so they dont want to spend the time on it. Maybe you know someone who has a MIG welder in there garage that can help you out
