Go to an art supply store and ask for translucent red vinyl. I looked around for a while before and all I could find in auto parts stores was lense repair tape. I went to an art supply store and they could order it, it was something like $30 for a posterboard-size sheet.

I went to a hobby store and picked mine up, the kind with model airplanes and all. I believe it was red translucent vinyl. Except instead of a sheet this came in a roll like wrapping paper. It was $25 or $30 for the roll, but there was a helluva lot on it.

Good luck redding out your tails. I fought like hell and could never get mine to stick real well. It looked good while it was on there but only lasted a few months before the edges were flapping in the wind.
