How loud is the stillen SS muffler

I took a look at the exhaust clips, couldn't find the combo I'm looking at, which is:
Budget y-pipe + stock catback...how loud will it be if I replace the oem muffler with the Stillen muffler, keeping the stock cat & b-pipe? I'm getting a deal on a used one.
thx for your input.
Thx

Yeah its freaking loud, and you will sound like the biggest ricer on the streets...my suggestion get a custom made b pipe at an exhaust store and get your own muffler.

I recently removed my Stillen tail pipe. The sound that it produced was just not for me. It was on for 2 yrs. and I was sick of getting messed w/ by the cops. It has a low tone to is from 1.5-3000 rpm after you get past 3.5 rpm it starts to get raspy. This is one of the things I didn't like about the exhaust. PM me if your interested in buying mine.

is there a HUGE difference in the non resonated b pipe and resonated b pipe in loudness and raspyness? I mean I want a deep tone but after about 2500 or 3000 when im gettin on it I want it to sound powerfull not ricey..? (I already bought a wrpsd y and cat to go with whatever else I buy to finish tha exhaust system with)

The stillen makes a mean drone at lower rpms, I hated the sound. For a rear section the HKS is the best I have ever had, nice quality and sound. I am not a big fan of dynomax mufflers they seem to be pretty loud when unresonated. There is a big difference getting the resonator, I wouldn't run an exhaust setup without one.

Thx for the input...I still have the stock catback including resonator & original muffler. The muffler lost the outer skin awhile back, so it has to be replaced. I'll keep looking.

I recommend the cattman cat back or at least the muffler. Its actually made for those who have y-pipes, not loud at all.

I have a 95 Auto GXE with a stillen popcharger, cattman y-pipe, hi-flow cat, budget b-pipe and a custom made budget muffler

It sounds barrely louder then stock for daily driving, to someone who had not heard the car before, they would think it was factory. When I mash the gas, it has a mean growl, but still not overly loud. It's wisper quiet at highway speeds aswell.

Theres a kid I go to school with that wants to sell me his setup. He has a 97 with a y-pipe (forgot what kind), resonated test pipe, and stillen cat-back. I don't know what everyone considers loud but I thought it was gonna be much louder than it was. It wasn't really that loud when he drove normal but got a lot louder at WOT but still not enough to get pulled over. He told me he wants $600 for the test pipe and cat-back and he's selling it cause he wants to go with a dual setup. I told him first of all I can pay $600 and get that whole setup brand new and second if I decide to get a cat-back it will be a cattman so he got kinda pissed. Overall I didn't think the Stillen was really that loud. I expected it to be much louder. But I wasn't too crazy about the sound it produced. When I finish doing the 00VI mod, I'm going with a cattman cat-back.

I've heard it, it's loud, kind of annoying. It's definately not a refined sound.

Ypipe, stock bpipe, and stillen muffler isnt too loud. My intake sounds overtakes the exhaust noise from mid to high rpms. no rasp or popping noises like most catbacks I heard, even the ones that supposed to be quiet.

Now if you add the stillen bpipe to it then its a whole different story....

Exactly. That would be a next mod, and then the whole sound would change.

I'm sort of in the same situation. The stock B- pipe was replaced recent enough by the stealership (before I inherited the car from the wife) that I don't want to do the whole catback. The original muffler is still on there, but the skin's peeling and it's just a matter of time before I have to replace it anyway. Sorry to hijack the thread (can't start my own yet and it sounds like the thread starter's question has been answered), but other than the $300 Stillen and Cattman, are there any others that are bolt-on ready to the stock B-pipe?

On the flip side, how much do muffler places charge to hook up a universal muffler to stock-everything-else? (flange, pipe, hangers, tip, etc.)

Thanks
