ks wire harness

does anyone know if the knock sensor wire is supposed to be 1 or 2 wires???
at one end of the wire harness has 2 wires and if i follow the hollow black casing to the other end of the wire harness...it has 1 wire (the part that connects directly to the ks). does this sound right????
anyone know where i can order a new ks wire harness????

thanks in advance

I went through the same thing. I pulled the original and thought WTF someone has rewired this. Though I bought the car new and know the KS has never been touched before. Ordered a new harness for $23 and guess what. It's the same, starts as two wires, ends up as one. That's the way it's supposd to be.

thanks so much. i was gonna order one ...but now i know.

is there any way to test the wire harness to see if its defective....the black hard casing that holds the wire is all cracked on mine. i dont know if that would happen to affect it.

thanks

I peeled the casing off to have a look when I thought the harness was bad. It's just a covering. You could wrap it with electrical tape to reinforce it and make it a little stronger I guess. You could verify continunity with a multimeter from the one connector on the sensor side with the corresponding connector on the harness side to double check it. Or you could just put it back on and verify that the code hasn't returned after driving it awhile.

good advice. i just wrapped the casing in electrical tape. next time i take the sensor off i will try and check it with an ohmeter for continuity.
im not getting a code right now...my car just runs like a 2 toed sloth.
i am running out of ideas on how to regain my cars potential.
