On my 96 max my tranny always shift hard from 1-2 until tranny reached normal operating temp (usually after about 10 mins of driving). Its getting annoying and i think alot of max with (model F04 tranny) have this issues? Or is it just me??

My 95 max just started developing this issue.. and i only have 67k miles on it.. it really dosent bother me much but a tranny fluid flush has fixed that issue for alot of people.

Its probably the drop resistor

It started a month into this winter.. never happened in any previous winter. Im not too concerned about it yet.

yeah i dont have any codes either, prob it is the drop resistor. Where can i get the drop resister? Only from dealership, cuz i cant seem to find on any online parts stores...

I had this same problem on my 95, changed the ATF fluid, replaced filter and it made all the difference. You might have to change the fluid twice to really smooth it out.

go to aamco and get youre tranny looked at, they diagnos for free. and if you get it looked at before its craps the bed it will be so much cheaper. (this is what they told me when mine went in my 99 max...i only had 1st gear and could go a whole 25MPH. haha, repair cost me $2300 including a rear brake job.)

once the tranny went i got the code "gear ratio incorrect" but i had no codes before hand
