god damn otto racing FSTB

I didnt know this POS was multifunctional, not only it supposedly gives you better handling, but it's secretly a rev limiter too. dare to rev past 5k rpm and it throws you a nice little orange light on the dash as a "thank you" note, fukcin 01 11.

my 3rd time replacing this valve thanks to the POS.

does the stillen or alutec clear this thing? post pics please

yah yah i took it off already........

The Courtesy Bar interferes slightly with that as well. It's a simple matter to bend the bracket that it attaches to. I've never broken mine.

"EVAP cannister purge control valve" is what it's called. I had this happen to me about a year ago. When I replaced the expansive platic round thing, I just took some pliers and bent the metal bracket down so I have good inch of clearance...easy fix to the problem. Haven't had problems since.

You can drive around with it broken for a while but you'll have poor idle and gas smell time to time. I think it's like $70 at the dealer brand new but you can find one cheap used ones.

I strongly urge you to free up some space between the two before this problem happens... and trust me it will happen sooner or later.

In that picture I noticed that the top of the bar is tilted down pressing agaist the EVAP. You could try to loosen the nuts on each side of the bar, then retighten them once they are holding the bar back away from the EVAP. I hope you get what I mean.

EVAP cannister purge control valve

$52~53 buck at http://www.nissan-parts-online.com/n...ne_catalog.htm

you should look at the parting-out threads and get them much cheaper.

i paid $70 at the dealership back in the day.

Uh-oh, gotta check mine tomorrow, I've been having high idle problems, hopefully it's not the FSTB, if so, I'll take it off.

what's up with everybody today. need to explain things like 3 times in the same thread. there's an easy way to fix the evap valve problem and that is just to bend the brackets. no need to get rid of your fstb

mine did the same thing. bend the bracket down so it doesn't touch. or throw another piece of pipe around it.

I have the same strut bar ... I had to bend the sensor out of the way ... the metal clips hold it together are easily bendable by hand ... no problem so far ....

I believe only 5spds have that canister by the strut bar. Not exactly where it is on the auto.

^^99 is different than previous years, new design. I have a cheap ebay bar like above and I have plenty of clearance under it, no problems at all.
