i think buying subs depends alot on the amp you have. you say you have an 800 watt amp. if that is rms power made by a respectable company, then you need some serious subs probably larger than 10's. if this is a cheap amp that claims 800 watts (probably peak power=very distorted sound) then you might only be getting 200 out of those 800 watts that you can use.

i have a rockford fosgate punch 100, which claims 62.5 watts X 2. in actuallity, when my car is running (14-14.4 volts) it puts out about 80-85 watts X 2. i have it bridged mono running one kicker xpl 12" sub. it sounds great. i have always gone with kicker subs (impulse, competition, xpl, solobaric). i have had great luck with kicker.

shop around for the best deal. buy good speakers if your driving them with a good amp. your system can only be as good as the weakest link. crappy amp + great subs = crappy system.

good luck!

if I were you,

I would get a 12" eclipse sub. the one rated 1000 watts fits your amp.

good looking sub, front and back.

it is about $400 with the box and installed from the dealer.

I am very happy with the soloberic that I have in my car. While you will have far more power than I have going to mine, with 10's you would be close to the maximum power handling capabilities of each speaker (I know with the Series D I have they have a maximum of 450W RMS could be different with the L7's) and so would probably get the most performance out of it.
