hey man, i have seen these motors for sale before and while they are quite interesting, i doubt that they make any more power or torque than your stock motor, however i dont have the specs, hopefully someone will step up with some knowledge, this will probably be an informative thread. i would really like to know also, good luck.

Why would you put a 3rd gen SE motor in your 4th gen?

this is the second thread i seen about these damn engines. these are VE 3rd gen engine... we use VQ engine.

and also there are no JDM ve30de engines. VE30DE was used only in the US spec 92-94 Maximas. even if they made 3rd gen ve30de engines, i wouldn't put it in my car.

The USDM spec is 190/190, whereas the VQ is 190/205. For me, it would have to make at least 255hp because a VQ35 motor is around the same price.

Looks like it would fit my Villager, but until the SOHC motor breaks, I can't be bothered. Besides, I think I can find something similar for less, closer.

but thanks anyway to everyone who just contributed attitude and arrogance to other orgers, instead of being helpful and civil. and if you want to talk some garbage just come to cleveland and pm me when you get here, russianguy and I just wanted to figure something out.

Why are you so bent out of shape?
A little research would have answered the question for you.
We have forums dedicated to all models of the maxima. A trip to the 3rd gen forum would have helped you.
Everyone just gets tired of seing the same post pop up when the the answers are available if you put forth the effort.
This wasnt even the right forum to post this, if you really wanted to know about motor swaps, a visit to the all motor section would have been more ideal.
Somone had just posted up a few weeks back in regards to a third gen motor found on ebay. The "JDM" detail gets everyone excited and they think they found somethng new.

USDM FTMFW till the death s0n.

Also, no one mentioned this but.... the VE is around 100 lbs heavier.

That is why the 4th gen is actually LIGHTER than the 3rd gen kthxbye

a little research DID provide the answer, dont tell me what i want or dont want. i saw something that made me curious and ultimately did get the right info, i get bent out of shape when people like you act like the civic kids around here instead of just pointing out the thread that would have revealed aforementioned specs. and in regards to the thread misuse, if someone did something inappropriate the mods would intervene. you wanna enforce policy,
become a moderator, whatever you do quit being a thread ****, now hurry up and get the last word so you can sleep tonight you mental invalid. how about a trip to the i.c.u. ?

Why are you getting all worked up on a thread that's not even yours? russianguy specifically asked in the original thread, "What do you guys think?" and everyone after that responded with "what they think". I don't see any harm in that. I gave my knowledge about these engines and if other people decides to flame instead of doing the same, it's their decision. No body told you what you want or don't want. You said you got the right info so why don't you share with us, instead of criticizing other people's remarks?

Alright, fair enough.

If you want to add some spice to your engine try searching "00VI" or "MEVI". Those are both variable intake manifolds that help the VQ30 breathe more like a VE30 up top. Not necessarily a power adder, but keeps power to redline whereas the VQ30 will run out of steam in the 5-5.5K range.

Not trying to diss you or anything.

Freeway's information about 00vi and MEvi is a common knowledge here in maxima.org. However, indeed people that are new to the website or the maxima community, might not know anything about these unless they read the stickies. That was the main purpose of the stickies; to eliminate unneccessary posts and repeated questions/answers. If more people started to read these faqs listed on top of all the threads, they will definitely have more knowledge about the maxima without a doubt.

By the way, 00vi is a variable intake found on 2000 and 2001 maximas. You would need some modifications done to make it fit but the gains are really there. MEvi is a middle eastern variable intake and more commonly upgraded to by the people because it's easier to do. Similar gains.

You can get a lot of "upgrading" information by going to http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php It's a great site if you are just beginning to upgrade your maxima.

howitzer, if you truly wish to gain all that this site offers, then read up before posting.
Ive been a member since 01, for the first year of my membership I read throught the site before even posting.
If you truly wish to gain ALL that this site has to offer, donate and get the search privlages. The site has lots and lots of info, the search privalge allows you to look for specific items.
It appears more and more members simply wish to be spoon fed everything.
In time the repeated questions by new members gets real old.
Like i stated before, a trip to the 3rd gen section would have answered your question
Heres some spoon feeding for ya,
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....12#post4919012
It wasnt hard to find, it was about 8 posts down on the first page. I didnt even need to do a search.

howitzer your a complete dumb@ss with nothing postive nor informative to say.
In every post youve replied in you sound like an @ss hat. Im guessing its due to you ignorance and unintelligence.
Some maxima enthusiasts you are. Do some more research, learn more about your car and stfu. You've been here since 05-14-2004 and dont seem to have learned sh#t.
