How to pinpoint where a tranny leak is coming from?

I parked my car today and moved it about 10 minutes later. When I moved my car I saw a small amount of liquid on the ground right around where my tranny pan is located. I smelled the liquid and it smelled like ATF. How can I pinpoint where the leak is occuring and what would be a good temporary fix for it until I get a rubber gasket to replace the seal?
