Tell the new owner of the Max to come here and tell how great his car is.

that is just the most absurd thought.

prior to getting my max. i had a NEW 2003 matrix xrs 6spd. it got up to 37mpg highway w/ wise considerate highway driving.
i sold it for 14k+ and bought my max for 2400bux.

i get 2/3 of the mileage i got w/ the matrix and thought its the best decision i made. sure i miss the mileage, but unless gas is 10$ / gallon, its simply not worth it to switch JUST b/c gas is expensive.

ur gonna be paying more in dot fees to get a different car.
simply a dumb move.

stick w/ the max. hells. i traded a brand spanking new car that was pampered just to get a max.

wow yah ur crazy if u want to trade the maxima for an accord. in all aspects that i can think of the maxima is so much better than the accord. stick with the maxima even if it is a lil bit more on gas its going to save u on parts.

Good point about the timing belt, good thing we have chains!

I think there may be a different reason why he is so eager to trade it in. Just to save a few bucks on gas makes no frikking sense.

I had a 96 explorer with a v8, and I managed to make a 20 gallon tank last a full week driving to and from school and to shindigs everyday. My max will last me around 11-12 days if I drive right. 40-45$ every two weeks equals less than 100$ a month for gas...and your complaining? Try driving an f250 or something.

When you accelerate, just stay under 2500rpm,
In the city, stay under 45mph,
Or under 70mph on the freeway, youll be fine.

I am able to pull approx 800km on a full tank but that is only highway driving ( cruising at approx 120-130km) during my trips from Toronto back to Montreal and vice versa..

City driving, I will be lucky if I can get 425km/tank..

Fuel consumption depends on many aspects... yes, driving style affects majority of it, however, it all depends if the car is running properly, right tire size/air pressure, etc....

I'd never have an accord. The EPA ratings are virtually the same as the max which means the engine design in the max is more efficient. I just got 34 mpg on a round trip between Atlanta and Tampa. I kept it just under 70 to save gas, and did it ever. I have 263,000 miles on mine, and it still cruises like it is riding on glass.

I can get 2 weeks out of the tank when I only make round trips to school and ride my bike everywhere else...

BTW that sweet sound that the intake makes when you floor it is the sound of the money in your pockets burning LOL!

I mash on the gas EVERY time I get the chance! Save gas? Forget about it. If it drops to 20 mpg I am still better off then what I use to drive. Something about the excitement or rush of accelling 65-90 in a sec or two is well worth a buck or two. Think about it, funlovinmax summed it up the best...another car might save a nickel a year. Performance of a sports car, utility of moms car all in one. Screw that Accord! Changed your mind yet?
