Quick question about spark plugs

Hey, Well my 5spd maxima was hesitating really bad and missfiring in #5. I suspected it was either the plug or coil and i swapped the coils and still missfire in #5 so i pulled the plug in #5 and the electrode was really worn down and id say the gap was probably at like .080 atleast. I quickly regapped the plug to .040 just so i could get home (was at school) i have some replacement ones at home there NGK-PFR5G-11. My only question is, ive checked my fsm, ive checked the owners manual and ive checked the FAQ the one thing in the faq about changing the plugs is down. I dont know what to gap them to i havent been able to find anything. so does anyone quickly know?

The gap for the NGK coppers is .044 but I believe there is no gap for the platinums.

Which ones do you have?

I think platinums don't need to be gapped.

Kormax, why did you post a scan of page 1-21 in the Haynes/Chiltons? The gap is not listed on that page.

thanks for all the help, i changed the plugs and the car runs perfect! It runs just like how it did before. The gap was really bad, i could fit the .040 and the .035 combined so .075 inbetween. The messed up thing is me and my auto teacher checked the vehicle emmisions thing under the hood, all it showed was ignition timing and valve lash and a few other things but nothing to do with the spark plug gap. I checked the gap and they were at around .041 to .042. Changing the plugs was a breeze the hardest one was the #6 and thats only because i had to take out 2 more bolts and 1 plug because it was in the way. thanks again!
