which plugs

im gonna be changing my spark plugs, but ive been reading the copper ngk's get better spark than the platinums. why?

also, would it be beneficial to use ngk iridium ix on our generation vq's?

I just changed my plugs and used copper cores. They lasted a few milesbefore I noticed a slight "miss" in the engine. I immediatly switched them to the iridium type of NGKs. I believe the IX iridium NGKs are about $5-$6, but I opted for the $10 iridium NGKs instead. My mechanic recommended them, I figure my baby deserves the good sh*t anyways! Don't step over a dollar to save a nickel.

I've been using NGK coppers with good results.

I agree. I never saw the difference in other plugs myself...except for the price.

I suspect you don't know how the engine is supposed to run, as your statement is in the vast minority of experience members have had with those plugs.

those plugs suck on NISSANS (and most Japanese Cars), they work better on european cars (VW, BMW, etc.) maybe you got lucky and actually got a good batch of plugs, but in my case I had them in for 6 months and they robbed my car of power, switched to NGK Plats, my MAX runs great now.
