fan resistor pics

does anybody out there have a picture of what a good working fan resistor should look like.

mine is all blown out and i tried to solder all bridgeable links. yet it still doesnt work on 1/2/3.
actually, i heard a humming when i put it on 1, 2, 3. maybe i soldered on a circuit path that i shouldnt have soldered?

if anybody has a pic or a wiring diagram of the resistor board, that would help me a lot in soldering my crappy dead one or.... maybe i should just buy another one.

Here's what mines looks like after i did the fix. A big blob of soldering as i couldn't get it flat enough. I also had to clean the board because it was so dirty you couldn't see the circuits.

it's what basically controls the airflow. That piece breaks and the 4th speed will only work. Hot or cold.

It looks like the repair did not do anything. Speed 4 always works because it bypasses the resistor. You need to use a piece of (copper) wire long enough to bridge the gap. Do not use a blob of solder like that. Make sure the wire is thick enough to carry current.

I'd say buy a new resistor, that lil thing shouldn't cost much! Repairing circuit boards isn't worth it at all.

As for ALSOUSA99MAXIMA, buy a chilton or haynes manual so you don't have to ask next time. Just look it up in the book.
