Do you have a 5spd or auto?
The new Dodge RT has 242 HP, 250lb's of TQ and weighs in at approx. 3600. The only thing I have heard about it is that the new RT does 0-60mph in a hair under 6 seconds, which is about the same as 96 5spd Max.

emax95: You mean a hair under 7 seconds? don't think it has 0-60 times in < 6sec !

I think you'd beat an Intrepid RT, they have the same engine as the 300M and produce the same power?

You shouldnt have a problem with him. Those cars are pretty darn heavy.

Well the only test I've seen of a Dodge Intrepid R/T was in Car and Driver. Obviously all of that engine power isn't getting to the wheels, as it runs zero to sixty in 7.8 seconds and through the quarter mile in 16 seconds flat. Depending on your Maxima, chances are it will be either really close (automatic) or you will prevail (manual).

Hope this helps,
Jeff

There is more to a car than straight line performance. In curves, the intrepid will eat the maxima. I do mean eat. I have a 97 intrepid and a 96 maxima and believe me when I say that the intrepid eats the max when it comes to handling.

Fit and finish the max wins.

BTW, the autostick feature of the intrepid is a crock. The car isn't any faster than letting the computer shift it and if you get the rpms too high then it will automatically shift anyway.
