Not Another A/C Wont Work Thread....Serious Inquire !!
Alright my A/C has always worked well after I replaced the Compressor like 4 years and 2 years ago had a nice recharge done where the system was totally emptied then recharged and pushed out really freezing air for the past two summers.
I went to use the A/C the other day on a pretty warm day and got nothing. air was warm, ran it for about 20 min and still nothing. Brought it to the same place that recharged it two years ago and they put it on pressure and it held pressure for a good 45 min so he pretty much cant find the leak. He charged the system, and I picked the car up today.
Whats the trick with finding such a small leak that leaks out over two years time ?? Any ideas ??

yeah for some reason my a/c only blow warm air, unless it's on auto and i turn on the recirculation button i get pretty cold in my car in like 10 minutes. Do i just need a recharge or new compressor?
Sry don't mean to jack your thread, just no point in starting a new one to get flamed. Thanks.

I got another question relating to AC. Mine is only cold when my hood is up. I think it has something to do with air flow. Anything I can clean or replace so there is better air flow under the hood so my AC is cold? Thanks guys

You can take it to a carwash and spray it. Make sure you go in the direction of the fins (up and down strokes) to avoid bending them. Then you will have to straighten them for sure.
And yes I know that sounded dirty.

same thing happened to my moms ac in her 2003 dodge dakota. worked fine one day....the next day nuttin but hot air. it definitely had a leak. i put the leak dye stuff in there....and by the next day i found the leak on the condensor.
u could try that. the kit cost btwn $15-$40 depending on what brand u buy and what it includes.

noticed a pattern with my car. So on a 85 degree day, I start up my car and start driving. The AC is is cool but not cold the whole drive and its pretty uncomfortable. It gets especially warm at idle. Then when I get to my destination, I turn my car off then turn it back on after about 10 seconds. I turn on my AC and I get COLD air the whole time I'm sitting there at idle. What could be the problem? I don't think it could be the condenser since i get COLD air at idle AFTER i restart my car after a drive. Any help? Thanks

also, depending on what is leaking, it could be worth just getting more 134a put in evey 2 yrs. cuz if its the evap coil, first, its prob a pain in the butt 2 get to, then the part itself, and recovering the old 134a... putting in new... and it could still leak! (cars always seem to leak...) just my $.02
