3.5 Turbo?

Is there enough space in our cars (4th gen.) to fit the 3.5 plus a turbo?

why going to fit a turbo on a 3.5? might be a tight fit. Intercooler piping could probably take up close to all of the space between the motor and the batter. Underneath it probably.

The external dimensions of the 3.5 are indentical to the 3.0 so there would be no difference as far as available space to fit a turbo.

Nissan said "it is an updated 3.0 that they bored out," among a ton of other upgrades. Also on a side note, with say the G35, as far as space goes they just route a lot of the turbo piping outside of the engine bay (Just look at the K&N G35 or some of the DriftSpec ones). I've seen the engine bay of the 5.5 and 6th Gens and its seems like there more forward room than that of the G35 and 250 obviously due to engine bay dimensions and the RWD vs. FWD routing.

My point may not be very clear at this point, so all I'm saying is its totally possiblt, its been done, so stop asking and I'm sorry if I brought this thread back from pg. 2.

You responding to my post?

I know very well that the 3.5 has a larger bore than the 3.0. That doesn't mean it takes up any more space in the engine bay.

Yes the 3.5 is the same size as the 3.0. Why do you think it's lighter? It's the same engine except with a little more missing.

Yeah I remember Mardi having a 3.5/3.0 hybrid for some reason, although why he did that always escaped me.

Why do some feel the need to be overly rude to others when they ask questions? First of all, The SEARCH function on here has never worked. Secondly, finding specific things on here manually is not exactly easy. So, what does it hurt to just direct people to the appropriate forum?

A little kindness goes a long way.

I don't know about that, but I would sure like Nissan to come out with a stock Turbo model. That would be awesome with that 3.5L.

The new GT-R will have a twin-turbo VQ.

P.S. Haven't seen you around the forums in a while. Still have the max?

Next BBQ meet? I'm not sure. We haven't decided on a date yet.

But here's a taste of what the last one was like.
