punished my wheel on a curb

long story short - lost traction on a turn in the rain, banged wheel assy into curb and stopped, almost killed self for messing up the max. the car rolls, puts power down, but wheel is pressed into wheel well. managed to drive it to a u-turn and put it in a parking lot before towing. turning the wheel to the right, car drives like normal. turning wheel to the left, car pushes against self trying to turn the wheel, only moves in a straight line with lots of rubbing and noise. can i even try to fix this myself or is it beyond diy? i have yet to tow it to a shop for an estimate because this happened yesterday. also thought maybe the donut would be ok to get it to the shop but dont want to mess the car up anymore and the strut looks unsafe.

I know you are gonna need at least a lower control arm to get that wheel back to where it needs to be. I'd get it to a shop there is no way someone can properly diagnose that with just looking at pictures.

Yup you need a new lower control arm. Also maybe a new strut, can't really tell by the picture. You also may need a new spindle depending how you hit the curb. I did replace the lower control arm myself, cause I have a breaker bar and air tools to help me out. Good luck and hope everything works out for you.

PS seems like you need a new tire/rim.

I'd turn the wheels hard right to take a look at the frame. Check for cracks, Your stut tower look okay. I'd change the lower arm, stut, rim, and maybe the spring seat. Look on ebay, the control arm should be about $75, stut and spring seat shouldn't be more than $200, wheel u can look for some cheap steelies.

Oh yeah, if there's no frame dmg, you can fix it; just compare the two sides. If you like you can also buy a new fender, shouldn't be expensive either.
