Too many code 34's lately!

looking at the amount of fellow MAX orgers with bad KS I'm starting to think mine is going bad too my MAX is displaying all the symptoms, randon poor low-end accel. power, dunno about the low gas milage mine isn't bad. So I'm going to check for Codes myself since Autozones around here only read 96 and up (wtf?!). It could also be a case of bad sparkplugs because I got suckered into putting in some BOSCH quadfires. I might change those too.

Doesn't the 95 have the OBD II reader on the passenger side? Or was that my dream? And yes Bosch do suck imo, go get some OEM platinum spark plugs from somewhere. I get mine from the dealer and I trust them so yeah. Also good luck replacing the knock sensor, heard it is a PITA to replace.

so think it's a good idea to go ahead and replace the spark plugs? and to see if it that works for me, THEN check for codes?

I think replacing the knock sensor isn't a pain unless you can't fit yer hands under the manifold, otherwise your have to tear through it.

Since, running for codes in diagnostic mode is a hassle and I might as well change the sparks to something with better quality...

I would for sure change the knock sensor. I just changed mine last weekend, and i can tell you, it makes mre of a difference than you think. I was driving for about 3 months with it being bad, got tired of no power, and sorry gas mileage. I was getting about 415 per tank, then after it went out, it dropped down to about 345 per tank. Now its back to 400 plus

did you change it yerself? if so, was it easy? there seems to be enough clearance between the manifold and the engine to fit my hands in there but i dunno about getting a wrench in there :-S

0505 - No Failure Recorded/Detected

Ran for codes, got 0505

I'm so happy :-D

My KS is good.

I washed my car yesterday (after about 6 months without washing it) gave it the full works. My accel power came back after I washed it LOL! I guess it's true that your car performs as good as it looks

when was the last time u tuned up the car?
ie: change ur spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, pcv valve, etc etc.

if u cant really remember doing any of those, it might be a smart idea to do it urself to have peace of mind.

btw, i agree that bosch plugs are gay....at least for our maxima. i had them in m previous truck and they were horrible. ur better off with oem ngk platinum plugs.
