Brake question/problem....need some help
#1
I did my brakes this weekend, I got 3 out of 4 done. Gonna do last one tonite. I did rotors, pads, and lines. I had problems with stripping of the line nuts (Even with flarenut wrench). I'm worried about bleeding the system, because the brake resevoir is completely empty, which means there isn't much fluid in there, and there is alot of air. I wanted to put speedbleeders in, but I can't cause they require 90% fluid. What should I do? How can I bleed that much? I also might go to the dealer to have them install the speedbleeders, and rebleed to check and make sure I'm safe and I wont die.
Thanks guys..

I meant rounding, sorry.... I mean I tightened the LH front one with the flare nut wrench and it tightened fine (At least I hope it was tight enough), so I'll just do that for the other one. Changing that nut is probably more of a PITA than its worth.
Good, I will bleed them, and drive with confidence

I have speedbleeders. Do as Martin says and refill the brake fluid reservoir and bleed. I am assuming from your post that you did not bleed each corner as you replaced the brake lines...that would have been ideal as long as you got the order correct (RR, FL, RL, FR). In any case, I hope that in replacing the lines that you did not allow the reservoir to totally empty and suck in air. In that case you definitely will need to bleed the conventional way (sans speedbleeder). Ditto if you left the brake fluid reservoir cap off while doing the brakes, which would allow brake fluid to free flow out of the open lines when you replaced those (due to gravity).
Bottom line: if there is not enough fluid (ie. too much compressible air) in the system, you might not be able to generate enough pressure to open the speedbleeder valves. You should be able to bleed conventionally with the assist of another person though. I am guessing that if you bleed one corner conventionally, the other 3 should then be able to be bled with speedbleeders.

Success!!!!!
I bled them the conventional way, and got all the air bubbles out at each wheel. Then I installed the speedbleeders, and bled 5 times at each wheel. Then I did that again. I only used 2 out of the 3 Motul 600 brakefluid things. Also, I can't notice much difference from the SS lines, but that could be because I haven't driven it hard due to the break-in period.
Thanks guys for all your help.
