Best Insurance for the MAX

My insurance is about to expire and I was wondering who offeres better coverage for the MAX?

See I carry GEICO and I notice that their contract states that in the event of an accident they will pay upto the cars value, meaning they'll give you what YOUR car is worth at the time of the accident, not what it will cost you to get a car in the same condition you bought yours in (NOT COOL since if GOD forbid something happened to my MAX i'd run out and get another one they're that damn good I say!) or am I wrong?

Anyone know any "better" insurance companies out there?

What are you guys carrying (if any LOL!)

On a serious note though I have Allstate. Also when my first maxima got totaled the person who hit me was with travelers insurance and her insurance gave me the blue book value of my car. I ended up making nice profit since they paid me more than what I bought it for.

Bought a CRX last fall for 75 bucks. (Not a honda person at all) It was wrecked, I spent maybe 150 bucks in junk yard parts to fix the suspension and was just using it as a driver. Well long story short, a lady in a camaro ran into a firetruck that was going through a light, bounced off it and hit me while I was sitting in the turn lane. totalled an already totaled car. She had State Farm, I was expecting them to offer me a coupe hundred bucks at most, which I would've accepted happily after all it didn't even have a passenger side fender on it. Well the guy called and offered me $1700!!!!! I just said, ok. So went to my aunt who was trading in this Max on a newer Nissan truck, gave her the same amount they were giving her on trade and walla, now I'm a Max owner. But noone cares about that. State Farm never gave me any hassle, they were more than happy to help out, I was really impressed with their politeness and service especially after dealing with some of the other insurance companies in the past, and I wasn't even a customer...

State Farm/Farmers/AllState are all good. I don't believe so-called low-priced insurance companies. It's very possible that the claim/help is sloppy when accident happens.

You get what you paid for.

I'm with Allstate. I haven't had any issues so far with them.

I have been with Geico and wasn't happy with them. I found I saved money by not switching back to Geico.

I was in an accident while I was insured with them. I was not at fault. They paid the other parties medical to keep it out of court because the other party was a minor. They told me they were concerned if it went to court, they feared jurors would look at this young man and award him some outrageous amount. Therefore, it was in 'my best interest' to allow them to pay out my medical limits to help cover him. This would in 'no way' raise my premiums, especially since the police report said I wasn't at fault. (he ran a stop sign). NOT THE CASE when it was time for renewal. DUH!
I will stay away from Geico. Insurance companies are only as good as the way they handle claims. And unfortunately, you won't know how they do, until you need to file a claim.

21st Century is also good and not too expensive, provided your record is clean. =)

I have Allstate. My experience with them is they take their sweet time with stuff but they always come through quite generously.

In 2005 my car was stolen and recovered two days later. Maybe five weeks after that the transmission starting acting weird....turns out there was a slow leak and the entire transmission had to be replaced. I promptly called Allstate and told them the transmission problem was a direct result of the theft. After six weeks of annoying back-and-forth, my claims adjuster called me one day and said "What do you want? $3500? Call me back if you need more" like she was just over the whole thing. There was also the time they gave my dad $2700 for a totalled work truck that was worth like $1000 and the time they gave me $2500 for a Nissan Sentra I paid $900 for.

The only catch is they won't even insure you if you have more than 1 or 2 tickets.
