when i turn my car on sometimes (rather frequently), the enging will turn over, rev to ~ 1500 rpm then die. Then i have to take the key out and try again, and it usually works the second time, although sometimes it takes a third. This has only been going on for a few weeks.


What could this be?

 

MAF maybe?

 

does it happen on cold starts or does it happen all the time ( when the engine is hot already)?
