im still kind of in shock...i would go into details but i'm pretty distraught over seeing my maxima lik this.
as you can see the rear quarter panel is smashed in, does this look repairable?
im ffreakin out...
Well it doesn't look THAT bad as the clearances look okay (ie.. trunk fitment). But I'm not sure if a bodyshop will want to save that 1/4 or not. If not, then it's going to be around $3500 or so. If it's much more than that, it might be a total. If someone is talented and had the time, they could pull it out.

Um no. If one hasn't done body work before, it will just turn into a huge mess. Just hammering and slapping tons of bondo is an crappy way to handle it.

The rear quarter panel does not look that good to get it pulled out. I would assume if you were going to get it replaced they are going to weld on a new one. You probably have some frame damage, and if you don't you are lucky SOB.
I assume he has frame damage cause of how the quarter panel is smashed in and the bumper ripping off is enough impact to damage a frame.
On top of that bondo will probably not work in this situation cause of where the outer tail light fits, that frame area is smashed in so that is another reason he will prob have to get a new one welded on.
Hope everything works out for you, and best lucks to you

Sorry to see your ride in this type of condition. Unfortunately it looks as if they will have section out that huge dent and weld back in a rear quater. They might do it half A$$ and bang it out and fill w/ body filler. All in all not going to be cheap, labor is going to kill you. I'm guessing $4-4,800.
Daaamn Chillin!! I'll be online later this evening you gotta tell me what happed. Abopve all is good that your okay. That will be pricey to repair you are probably looking in the $1k range atleast, and thats probably just for the body work on the rear quarter panel, prep, and paint. Hopefully you can come accross a bumper already painted rosewood for a good price.
Valve stems dont cost that much so about ~$15 a tire shop, plus your discount or if they could hook you up you'll be good to go.
The hardest part will be replacing the Red Clears you have!!
Amen to that!

Hey Chillin, I don't exactly remember the name but I remember a decent shop in Houston in the Sharpstown Mall area. They also do custom interiors if that helps any. I had them install a new headliner in my Saab and they fixed the right rear panel on my friends Mustang.

the bumper actually looks okay, like it could be put on. its all the brackets and **** for the tail lights that im worried about. i dont even care if they paint it, i just want that thing popped out and ill do the rest.
the first step is finding a shop. but i gotta go to work right now.

It dont look that bad Ive seen worse. I do all my work at Mexico (yeah dont laugh) they do a great job. They just finished a smashed backend on a kia and it looks great. They also did all my body and paint for under a grand. Got pics if you would like to see.
yea, it's not that bad at all. i had the same damage on my car. take it to the shop, they can use dent puller to pull most of it out and slap a whole gallon of bondo on and you get a perfect car.(bondo is like $15 a gollon). my rear panel after being pulled.
I went through the same thing also except mine wasn't as creased. I think that a good body shop will recommend replacing the QP because by the time they get through repairing yours you will be at just about the same price. Your best bet is to find someone that does it on the side and works in a body shop. If you just go to a body shop I would agree with Jeff and say you are looking at about $3000-3500.

Take it to a body shop. Ask them if they can cut out the quarter panel and reskin it. There will surely be a skin available. Basically you cut all the way around the old panel leaving about an inch or whatever, you fit the new skin, clamp it in place, and tack the skin in place. Personally I use Easiflow silver solder because it flows easily at low temps, avoids too much heat. Then you gently tap the joined area slightly below the rest, then it is just fill/prep/prime/spray. That's how the body shop *can* do it cheaply - if they want to.

Main thing is you are O.K.!! I fell asleep at about 80mph on the interstate..Thank you Jesus I walked away unharmed! if ur really tired pull over and take a nap or somethin. anyway, This is what happened when I fell asleep..met the guard rail, obviously I didnt think twice about fixin it. I kept it for parts and bought a cheap one. I spent $885 for the max I have now. I got it off ebay and just transferred all aftermarket stuff I wanted and my tranny as the tranny on the one I bought was bad, and good as new! as u can see the trunk is still perfect..odd I know. but if u need it lemme know. heres the new car:
Man some of yall say no problem and the others say its not worth it.
Since I'm not doing this through insurance its up to me whether its "totalled".
I'm definently not paying 3 grand or more for this though.

That is far from totaled, but paint alone will cost a decent penny. Dont got the total and part out route . . . but if you do dude I gotta get that exhaust from you.
Haha mdeezy I'd hook you up for sure.
I mean okay its not totalled but I'm definently not going to spend a whole lot of money on it.
I'm pretty sure my frame is okay but I'm not positive.
It seems to have just fishtailed into a wooden fence cause I went back and looked at it today. but it wasn't enough to stop my car or anything.
Scariest experience of my life. Ill show yall pictures of where it happened later.
I don't want to jump the gun but if worse comes to worse I'm gonna buy another maxima and just have a spare.
As far as paint, I'm almost considering just having the body work done and holding off on paint cause I might want to repaint the whole car eventually. And I might know someone.
