Test pipe?

Anyone running an exhaust system with no cat? I got nearly all of my exhaust modded but the headers and cat. I have a universal hi-flo cat but the flenges are not on there properly and it does not fit my exhaust. I really dont want to go and spend the money to have them re-welded on properly, cause I do not even know the correct angle to weld them on. I know emmisions may not pass with no cat, but thats not something im worried about. I have budget y and greddy sp2 catback. Will not running a cat make my exhuast raspy? Or just louder. I like my exhaust tone now and I wouldnt mind if it just gets louder. I know there is little to no gains from running no cat, but my current cat is rusted to ish, its the only part of my exhaust thats not shiny underneath. If anything its clogging my exhaust up. I dont want to spend the money for a new cat. Any recommendations or thoughts?

Thanks,

Matt

i dont know exactly how itll sound on the maxima cause of the resonator and everything else, but i had a toyota celica a few years ago with straight piping all the way back. i removed the cat and muffler cause the exhaust was rusted to almost nothing and it sounded like a honda with a raspy fart can muffler. i put on a thrush muffler from the auto parts and it helped a lot. no raspy sound just a nice little growl when you went WOT.

if its the route you wanna go take warning, your car is gonna be LOUD, and you wont pass emissions guaranteed. if they do emissions in your area i wouldnt recommend it. its not worth the headache

The Magnaflow hi/flow cat from Warpspeed is only $100. Installing it is a cinch.

^+1, try to at least run some sort of cat. There will be negligable gains from its deletion and you'll pollute like a biotch.
