Inhale....
Here are some general car care tips that I can think of off the top of my head. They are even more important for a dark colored car (like my black one)
If you are concerned about watermarks, always wash your car when the car is cool. If you have just driven your car, you might want wait a half an hour or hose it down for like 10 minutes to get the surface cool. Always wash and dry your car in the shade so you don't have to worry about waterspots.
Make sure you use clean tools! Buy a wash mit. Put it in the washer after every use so that all the dirt that's embedded in the mit gets washed out. Use 100% terry cloth towels to dry your car. Wash those after every use too.
When washing the car, use two buckets. One for dipping the mit in the sudsy water and one to rinse the mit after you have gone over the car. That way you don't rinse the dirty mit in the same clean water you are using to wash the car.
Make sure that your water has a lot of suds. That is what keeps the dirt suspended so that you don't end up dragging dirt particles all over your car.
Keep the paint clean. If after you have washed and dryed the car, run your fingers along the paint. If the surface feels rough, then you have some debris embedded in the wax or clear coat. You might want to pick up a clay bar or some other product that can get these particles out. Try and wax your car every 2 months if possible. It will be easier to keep clean if it's always waxed.
I have so many paint chips on my car it's disgusting. I plan on having it repainted or getting the CF hood
If I get it repainted, I plan on getting the clear bra on it this time.
Exhale.....Phew!
