I'm in the process of doing the opposite. It'll look much better when it's all done. The tan I have is more of a grey than tan tho.

i've gotten both the front seats in and the headrests. This week I'm finishing up the back seat and attempting to fabricate some door inserts. I'm also going to paint the dash trim to match.

it was just very long and tedious to get everything done properly ... i also should have bought everything at once instead of doing it piece by piece ..... also taking the headliner out to dye it black was a nightmare .. that thing is bulky ..... and the WORST was lying out the new carpet and cutting holes for each bolt hole

Thank you. I am too lazy to do the whole thing, plus I don't really feel like spending the money.

The center console is black and the area around the steering wheel. I am going to be getting a black wheelskin to tie it all in also. Tha's probably about as much as I will do though. Thanks.

look guys, I'm obviously not done with it. What I have is leather from leatherseats.com but it was for an oldsmobile alero. I got it for free from a guy so I said what the hell and decided to give it a shot. So I just threw em on to see if it looks decent and I think it does. The pictures make it look alot beiger than the grey that it really is. These pics were taken after I first got the first seat on so I've done more fitment afterwards.

SO, before the flaming begins, let me actually finish the project.

I've been slowly working on a black/tan interior also. I don't have any pictures of the dash here at work, but all I've done so far are swap the vent trim and the defroster vents to black, and what's done in the following picture. Black interior parts, and 4th gens period for that matter, are hard to come by in the junkyards around here.

Here are the door panels so far, I'm thinking of going with the bottom center portion as black also. http://5speed.org/gallery/album01/P4120002

It wasn't too difficult at all. I removed the old inserts (which was the most tedious part), dyed them black and used some fabric/vinyl adhesive to reapply them. I'll post some pics of the vents tonight.

went to the junkyard yesterday and got all the interior peices in black like the door handle trim, window controls, hand cups, center dash, and interior lights.. the interior was grey/ black so not everythign i wanted to take was black. i found another car with a full black leather interior thats gonna be released into the yard this weekend so hopefully the interiors in good condition.. anyone know how much they might chagre me for the seats???

That looks good.. definately do the lower sections too that would be hot!
How did the upper pieces go on? is it loose at all? the door panels are solid on the back so how were you able to get the tabs in tight?

Thanks for the compliment. My original plan was to go the easy way and pull the black leather inserts out of another Max, so I did out of a '95. I go to remove mine and oops...my '99 Cloth inserts don't quite come out like planned.

So I just carefully removed the cloth covers, dyed them, and reapplyed them with Fabric/Vinyl adhesive from Advance Auto (since there are no tabs, it's just a piece of fabric). The adhesive gave me enough time to align it perfectly into place before it set. I did this about 2 months ago and have had absolutely no problems so far with it coming loose, discoloring, or anything like that. I could probably do a full writeup if there was any demand for it.

I plan on doing something with the bottom portions when I finally get some time off from work next week...I think that'll make it look a lot better.

Here's what I got for $50 at a local yard --
2 Black defroster vents, 2 black air vents (the ones on each side of the dash), 4 black door cups & handles, 3 of the 4 black leather door inserts, black e-brake boot, radio trim & bracket, an extra DIN pocket and a shifter trim. Oh and 2 coil packs.
