Y-pipes
Y-pipes
So i changed my mind about getting an aftermarket cat-back. I think Im just gonna keep her stock. But if I were to get a y-pipe would it give it a little growl? How much of a difference would it make performance and sound wise?
Also, if you have any idea how much it would cost to have the aftermarket ypipe and a new stock exhaust put on, let me know. I called a few places and the prices are ranging from $450-$1000. These people are insane.

It wont make much of a difference in sound very unnoticeable.
I paid 210 for an 'custom' car back with muffler. Get a cattman b ipe, keep the stock muffler or get a new one and aftermarket y-pipe and you should still be under .5k$.

I know everyone is always talking about which y-pipe i was going to get one soon and i was trying to decide between Custom Enterprise's or RedlineMax's both are about the same price but which creates less bees in a can? And is Redlinemax's Warpspeed?
i got myne from Custom enterprise, but i would recomend warpspeed or budget - one or the other has the ANTI bees in the can sound.
with the stock mufler which i would recomend your car will sound deeper but nothing much will change - if you have bee's in the can, you will here it, or mabe even a raspy sound on accel in certin rpms.
with an after market mufler, you will hear it alot more, and it all depends on the mufler. i have a stillen, so it was loud without the y-pipe... then with it, makes it much deeper and louder with rasp.
all the y-pipe is doing is removing the restrictions. the stock y-pipe has big honking pre cat's which restrict flow, and the aftermarket ones are just pipes with holes for your o2 sensors. they differ usually in the flex section and the way the two tubes connect into one (the brands differ).

i never went with catman because of cost, and i heard they rusted out faster than the competition. either warpspeed or budget also say no bee's in the can... i forget which one, - but even then it was like 50/50 chance (so i thougth - this is not truth its opinion).
the Custom enterprise y-pipe i got with a group deal, alittle pricey tho... works great, but i get a rasp and certain RPM's. makes the car really noisey too - well because of my stillen exust mostly.

Well I cant speak for the warpspeed but when I first put on my budget y-pipe I had no difference in exhaust tone whatsoever. Later on there was an exhaust tone change, but that was due to a hole in the b-pipe.Budget makes VERY good stainless steel y-pipes. They last long even through winters.
Now that I put on a greddy sp2 my car sounds perfect. Nice deep tone at WOT, and a purrring deep exhaust tone at cruise. Not loud at all, have to have the radio turned off to hear the exhaust tone. My intake overrides any exhaust noise at WOT.
I have stock exhaust & B pipe, You will get a little growl out of the Y.. mine sounds louder on startup (vrrrrooom) but under normal throttle its marginly louder than stock.. @ 5000rpm mine gets a little rasp but nothing annoying.. I think with full exhaust the rasp won't be as noticeable.
