Question about alignment

I just changed out my struts and shocks on my 99 SE. I know I need an alignment but have got conflicting info. If I am correct you can only align the 2 front tires. I have had shops tell me that they can adjust the toe on the rear and this justifies the 4 wheel alignment charge. Does anyone know if this is true?

Camber and Toe-In for the rear suspension is preset from the factory and cannot be adjusted. However it can be measured on an allignment check and if out of spec. you need to replace bent or worn out parts.
This is quoted from the 1999 Nissan Maxima factory service manual.

Really? The rear wheels on Max (and Infiniti I30 I presume) are not 'align-able'? I did not know that!

Seriously, this is very useful thing to know. Thanks!
