4th gen stalling

my max has no codes... runs great.. but every now and then it just cuts off while driving or hesitates then stalls. Any clue as to what it could be?
Any help is much appreciated! (Also it smells rich as hell when this happens)

It sounds like a possible vacuum leak to me, or an injector might be stuck open..... Vacuum leak would cause the hesitation, sputtering, and eventual death... Does it stay alive if you give it some gas?

it would just dump gas unregulated into the cylinder... causing richness and what you just mentioned.

Possibly.... I cant be sure without being there...but its either a vacuum leak, a lack of spark, or too much fuel (clogged/stuck injector).... I'd say find a shop that does free inspections/estimates and see what they say.
