Want to Order Cattman Exhaust, Question

I am planning on ordering a full Cattman setup. As a Cali-spec, I have those pesky O2 sensors to relocate. Per Brian, I have two options:

I can A) Purchase a b-pipe that has 2 bungs for the secondary O2's and extend and relocate them there;

or I can B) purchase an O2 simulator, splice it into the secondary O2's and then bundle them up somewhere in the engine bay (i.e. under battery tray).

Which would you recommend I do?

Why not just order the 99-cali-spec Y-pipe? You'll keep the stock location of the front 4 O2 sensors.

i wanted to go the header route, and be rid of the restrictive cali emissions equipment

Tough call. I would lean towards the O2 simulator route because I wouldn't want to modify 800 dollar headers or a 600 dollar catback.

well, nothing would have to be modified. Cattman offers a custom made b-pipe with two O2 bungs already pre-welded so I can relocate the secondaries there.

If you relocated them behind the cat, wouldn't the secondary o2's send slightly different readings than they would at their normal stock locations?

Can you pass emissions inspection with O2 simulators? If so, I would go that route.

the job of the secondary O2's is just to test and monitor whether the precats/cats are in place. essentially, putting the behind the cat, you should be getting the same reading...at least, thats what Brian tells me.

Ahh, I understand. Just voted for O2 sim. Cheaper, gets the job done and you can sell your b-pipe to me when you decide to de-mod )

In Tennessee we don't have emmission testing, haha. People here take full advantage of that too.

BTW, I decided to go with the custom b-pipe. Here's my thinking. With the b-pipe I will still have functioning O2's. They won't be in the engine bay where anything could go wrong. If any of the O2's go bad, I can easily go to the dealership and pick up a new one. I won't have to wait for the shipping time on O2 sims. Furthermore, after some more research on the org, some ppl have complained of sims going out after a few months, making my decision a little easier.

Brian said I would need to relocate all secondary O2's after the cat. I asked my mechanic to install an extra O2 bung to accomodate the sensor, but apparently he didnt listen and put it on the ypipe because thats what he did for a previous install of the cattman's. Either way, I haven't gotten an SES light for the past 2-3000 miles so I think I'm good.
