Removing rear-most heatshield...foreseeable problems?

THe title just...about...says it all.

My custom catback (I bought from another person, didn't have it made) is sitting too close to the heatshield right behind the bumper, and I was just going to remove that bish instead of fooling around again with the fitment. (I thought I had the fitment down so that it wouldn't hit...and then my Ypipe went in, and made the exhaust sit at a different angle/height).

I'm not even sure if I can remove that one...I haven't looked yet. However, does anyone seea problem with removing it? Is there anything above that heatshield that should actually be affected? How about the bumper, will it get too hot for the paint and bumper?

Thanks.

Never had that removed so not an expert here, but think the heat shield is there for a reason. I

I have ZERO heat shields. Except the one in the back. I forgot to take it off. HEHE

I figured that it wouldn't be very harmful...considering everyone says the other heatshields don't make a huge difference. Thanks, maybe I'll do that today.

Very true...and unfortunately it's not the heatshield that the muffler is banging against...I just took a closer look. Looks like I'll be refitting the catback somehow.
