When you buy the speakers and order, do you buy 2 of them for rears or does the pack come with two?

Usually they come in a pack of 2, I'd just go to a local audio store or BestBuy and get a box, remeber 6.5"

I heard that 6.75 fit better because the Bose were oversized!?! Just a thought.

True, I think that applies to the front speakers.

Yeah, speakers come in pairs (unless you buy off of ebay, then you never know what you will find). I have 6.75 in my rear deck and they fit perfectly. I don't have a clue about the doors. Try crutchfield.com to see what fits the best.

99grnmaxgxe the mesh inserts are awsome!

However, if you do have the bose system, then you are screwed when it comes to a speaker upgrade because you have to replace the head unit and all 4 speakers.

ummm no...6.5 in speakers all the way around and nothing has to be bypassed with the bose system. trust me i've replaced many 4th gen speakers and radios..including my own. aftermarket speakers will work with your factory stereo.

wow never said they didn't but their not very common. you can buy 6.5 in every where and they fit just fine. i was just pointing out that your not "screwed" if you have a bose system. which you said..you obviously weren't speaking from experience. but your right there are many cars that require bypassing the factory amp with an upgraded system.

btw i make my living doing car audio.

Gotcha. Just for my future knowledge, I thought that just any speaker paired with the bose system wouldn't work (something about it being 1 ohm and amped). Can you just drop in any speaker and it work, or do you have to use an amp?

any aftermarket speaker will work just fine on the max. we got lucky. and you don't have to use an amp but it won't hurt anything either.
but in all the newer cars coming out most of the time you do need to bypass the factory amp. car manufactures are making is more and more difficult to replace the factory system. for example, GM started running the door chimes and stuff through the radio. so if you want to replace the radio it either needs to stay in the car or you gotta buy like a $100 harness.

Hey jaye, can you check out my thread in the audio electronics forum. I am having problems with my amp overheating and I want to install a fan but I don't know the best way to do it.
