T-Boned...Now Gas Gauge Not Working

I was recently hit by a woman driving down the center turning lane to avoid traffic and she t-boned me on the back driver side door.

Now its seems like when I'm backing out of my driveway I can hear something in the gas tank moving around and the guage does not work.

I've looked in the book i'e bought from autozone but could not find anything that would help.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Hmm, that's a little scarey. T-boned on the back end, something rattling in gas tank, no gas gauge reading.

I hope you got her insurance details. Take it to Nissan, get it fixed right and charge her insurance company the full whack.

My insurance totaled out the car and I bought it back for 1,000. I fixed the axle for about $500. All thats wrong with it now is the gas gauge and the door that has a huge ding.

I'm keeping it as a daily beater, btw the gas light still comes on when its low.

Happened to my dads old station wagon. It probably dosent pay to fix it. There is a float in the tank that gives some sort of reading of how much fuel is in the tank. It probably got knocked and is just floating in there.

Does the gauge read a level at all or does it just stay stuck at below E?

Maybe the float came off the level sensor. You'd know by now if some fuel line was broke.
