Removing Front & Rear Bumper for painting???
check the how to's, but no comments on how to remove the front and rear bumper for painting? can some one let me know how to remove the front and rear bumper on a 98 max se? also, what steps will i have to do to remove the paint and fix the bumps? whats a good price for this at local auto body shop if they had to do it all vs. giving them the bumpers alone?

You are better of leave the whole car for a day at body shop, than remove the bumpers, since you would have to remove taillights and unscrew about 6-8 bolts on the bottom plus a few clips, same for the front. If you want to paint it by yourself, you would have to sand it first with a rough paper, than go a little smoother, than put body filler on the spots you want to fix, then sand everything again to make it like one surface. Than put primer, and sanding again, from 220 grid to 1000/2000 wet snading. And only after that when you have smooth surface you can put the paint on. The painting in the shop would cost you 400-800 for both bumpers depending on the place.

It's not hard to do the front bumper. The only tools you should need is a 10mm socket with short extensions, philips/flat screwdrivers, and it would really be easy with a ratcheting wrench. Take grille out, headlights, look for bolts/nuts holding the bumper onto the car. There are three nuts on each side holding the sides of the bumper onto the fenders.
