REPLACE YOUR MOTOR MOUNTS
i finally got around to replacing them...i bought used ones and filled them with polyurethane 80 shore.
the 1 to 2 up shift is soooo smooth...i cant feel a thing i only see the tach drop. the downshift to 1st is also smooth...cant feel a thing or hear anything.
i highly recommend doing this.

You are 100% correct. I went to Nissan back when my car was still under warranty and complained about car being jerky and I thought it was the tranny but they tested and replaced my mounts, it was nice and smooth after that...

Where did you buy them? I have been looking for them for like a month, want to do the same. And at what speeds do you downshift at 1st?! I can't do it unless I am under 5mph! May be someyhing is wrong with my tranny?:got me:

I am about to hit 170,000 miles. my tranny now shifts like silk now...even smoother than my friends 99 prelude with 95,000 miles and my dads 02 camry with 105,000 miles.
I have my old mounts...when i get a chance i will take pictures and upload them...they were TORN UP. The hole where the bolt goes through to be secured to the motor is so loose that i can rip it out of there. This is on both of them. the rubber is completely torn up.
I still have some polyurethan left so im gonna try and save them...if it works out i will post them up for sale.

I used that product before. It tends to fall out over a short period of time especially on the trans mount...>I just took out my old mounts that I have filled and they were empty. In my mind its better to buy the inserts from Suspension.com and have them pressed into the mounts. Only 5spds apply though

i used some 80 shore polyurethane from ebay...i let it set for 2 weeks in my garage...make sure to let it set for a long time cause it may look hard but the inside is still soft
cost was 80 for both front and rear mounts, 25 for polyurathane, 170 for labor... = $275 total
it was well worth it!!!
