Intake and exhaust mods would help the higher RPM gains. It also would be fairly pointless without a raised rev limit ECU.

Other than that no.

Not pointless, but definitely not as good.

Why would it be pointless? He would still be make more power in the upper RPM's than the USIM.

I am thinking of getting the MEVi but am leaning towards an 00vi. I really like my low end power and dont want to lose it with the MEVI.

MEVI = Middle Eastern Variable Intake

Available on VQ30 engines outside the US, hence the Middle Eastern part. When tuned propertly, you can develop a little more HP out of the stock bottom end of the motor. Generally, in the upper RMP range. Do a search and you will find many many many threads discussing MEVI vs. 00VI.

I put my mevi on even before I had a y-pipe, its worth it even without a raised rev limit. The lost low end isn't as bad as everyone makes it sound. If you want a simple bolt on with no complications go with the mevi. If you can handle a bit of customizing and research get the 00VI

Good to know there is some humor out there about this topic. I've been considering the mod myself and have been devoting many hours to doing the research. Just to make it more funny....which is better, MEVI or 00VI? Ha! Complete sarcasm intended.

Pun intended... Hmm, next time don't mention the sarcasm intended, it makes the experience more genuine.

I guess in your hours of research you missed the sticky that has proof that a 00VI owns a MEVI all day long.

And less usable torque in the lower range.....

You can get the look of a drop with just springs too.....

u dont lose that much.....and i would rather not run into a brick wall from 5500 ...we have plenty of torque on the low end...its only helps with launches to have a few less

Do you have the MEVI?

And i call on the whole "less torque is good cus it makes for easier launches" argument. Losing torque is never a good thing.

Yeah, I don't mind losing like 2 WTQ or something, but in terms of launching, less TQ wouldn't make it better. You simply don't have the right tires, suspension, etc.

Yea i know you autocross so i was thinking to myself, "why the hell would he be interested in the MEVI?" Since i know you spend most of your in time in the mid-range on the courses.

i more into road courses lately and i noticed that i dont have anythign up top...and when say i am in 4th going into a turn i drop to second...usually hit like 4500 but then t starts to fall off kwikly...i dunno it really is a toss up...but honestly a few torque "points" u lose make up for it in top end power which we just dont have.....but at auto-x i am dumb as waste my time to drop into 1st around sharp turn-around just because our gears are so long it sucks...so i am still in the upper range more
