Digital Speedometer Question

Where is the mileage stored on a digitally equipped max? In the ECU? I'm looking at a car at an auction with no speedometer (cas was stripped - theft) and am wondering if I get one on ebay will the milage be loaded from the ECU and therefore be correct or not? I'd appreciate the help. Thanks everyone.

The mileage is stored within the guage cluster. If you swap a digital cluster, whatever mileage is on the cluster will retain its mileage when you install it the car. When you do the swap, just make sure you match up the new cluster's mileage as close as possible to your original mileage on your car to avoid odometer fraud. Some dealerships will adjust the mileage for a "small fee" for proof and reasoning of the swap.
