i hav 150k on my car now which means i would hav to either rebuild my motor or get a 98 motor with lower miles....

or should i jus scrap all the above and get a tilley prepped 3.5...

if i wasnt a poor mother thats what I would do personally. rather start with 260hp and add 70hp then start with 190 hp and add 70 hp

Well the 3.0 can handle alot with fuel upgrades and egine upgrades but I wouldnt ever think it could handle more then 12 or 13 at the most. but if he is doing it more power to him.
I dont know what the 3.5 is made of but it should be able to handle 6 psi to 7 psi stock and it should be able to handle more psi than the 3.0. I dont know how much it can handle though.

Why is that because of the stiffer valve springs and slower piston speeds? Oh, nevermind those are found in the 3.0L.

3.5L with bolt-on parts and a good tune would probably be good for awhile. If you get the need, go for the boost.

Not very long after most of the Max's rolled out. The later it gets, the more nervous I get with all the ricer activity (see: heat rolls in to shut down the fast and the furious crowd).

But on topic, do you realy think you would need/use a boosted 3.5L?

There is NO way that the 3.5 can handle more boost than the 3.0. The strongest point on the 3.5 is the crank, which can handle over 1000hp. But besides that, it is a necessity to upgrade the internals on the 3.5 with anything over 10psi of boost. Lots of guys on the org are running 10psi+ on stock 3.0's, but when some Z guys with their 3.5's tried bolting on those procharger kits and upgrading the pulleys, there motors went buhboom. A few local guys had that problem, and weren't too happy that their new z's had blown motors.

I have a feeling the 4th gen from Central Florida Turbo will get as close to the limits as they can, if it is any similarity to the DC2's and Civics they work with.

150k isn't all that much. You still have a long way to go. Unless you pound on it everyday.

The 350Z motors blow there motors because they're not pulling timing at high RPM. Let's do our research folks. There are plenty of Z's in the 11's trapping north of 120 MPH with stock internals.

Valve springs don't care how much power a motor is making, just how high it revs, so we can leave that out of the equation. Slower piston speeds? SR20DEN is revving his motor to 7500 RPM with no problem. This doesn't matter, because revving past the stock redline n/a |= doing the same while boosted. This goes for both motors.

Fair enough, while the VQ30DE springs are stiffer it seems to be a moot point until you get into an aggressive cam at very high RPM.

I just have a tendancy to think the VQ30 would react better to boost due to it's shorter stroke. Being in a "V" configuration isn't optimal in the first place and I would think that the 3.5 would only further exaggerate the shortcomings.

VQ35 swaps are useless. You don't get any added power, and it makes the engine bay just plain looks bad. Keep your stock 3.0.

Old technology FTW.

on a lighter note, i finally pushed it in 1st and second, full interior, with another person in the car. The damn thing felt like it wanted to take off, i've never gotten to 60 so fast.

Tune = $$ I don't have, so i'll have to find a crackhead deal like i always do.

From personal experience, I wouldnt turbo it if funds are limited.

for the money... a turbo will cost just as much (if not more) for the 3.5 swap...

n/a power owns everything else, its the most reliable

and sh-t you get a vq35 block to build up on. if i kept my maxima, thats what i would have done. 13second car
