USIM Question *pic*
USIM Question *pic*
My '98 IM has this (circled in red) hose fitting right after the TB. I suppose the IM I have been working with is a '95 or '96. Is there a way to re-route this hose? I am guessing it is EGR related. Can I just vent it to the atmosphere or does it need vacuum to pull whatever gunk out?

I can get a picture of where the hose leads but it is a very close area.
Thanks for any help.

does that connect into that brass tubing under the TB? I never seen that hose after the TB for 4th gen. Its probably a vacuum for your EGR like you said. I would cap both. It won't hurt the system.
Its the vacuum referance, and you need it. See the small nipple just under the elbow on the one you want to put on. Thats the same thing, so just connect that line there. I can check both 96 and 98 IM diagrams if you need to know where that goes. I know the FPR the MAP use a vac source.
Thanks, that small one below the elbow is also on my '98 and in use. The hose goes down to an area where there are 3 similarly sized hoses all next to each other. I hope I can route this somehow as I am about 2/3 way through getting this IM ready to put on!
He probably got a deal on one used and ported it.
Your going to have to tee off that 1 port for the vacuum gallery and FPR. Unless the bottom of your TB has a port on the IM side that sees vacuum when the TB is closed. Then you could route that one on top to the one underneath. I cant look at my TB seeing as I cut the bottom off.

I have been wanting to clean my IM and I came across this one so I cleaned it out and decided to remove the casting marks on the runners and the TB neck as well as polish them.
