Knock and Crankshaft Position sensor Check Engine Light Codes...

Quick question. I just had my check engine light come on. I checked the codes and its says there are a Knock Sensor and Crankshaft Position Sensor problem. I am wondering if it is common for both of these to come on at the same time. Also I always run 93 in my max, but the idiot at the gas station put 87 in the last time I filled up, would that cause any problems? Thanks!

Another guy from state college. Nice. Putting 89 in once shouldn't give you a code. Just reset it and if the code comes back then change the Knock sensor.

Change the CPS, make sure you change the right one, there are 2.
Clear the error codes, if the KS code comes back, change that as well.

Also keep in mind the Knock Sensor code may have been there for a while (This will not trigger your CEL) so you may not have noticed until the CPS code triggered the CEL.

I might be interested in it. I have the code as well. Figure I might as well go ahead & replace both sensors.

Please e-mail me at bwoods5421@gmail.com & I can get back to you tonight.

I kinda doubt he's going to get back to you. That post was from 5 years ago.

I just searched & opened a bunch of threads about CSPS. After reading through all of them I never even thought about looking at the dates of the posts...
