o2 sensor repair

Somewhere I read you can perhaps bring new life to an o2 sensor by heating it to red hot with a torch...is there any truth to this? Just wondering.
Thanks

Not sure about that, but I've heard just cleaning it off does the trick. It's worth a try and it's free. Let us know what you end up trying and your results.

I suppose you can use a torch and clean it off. After all the o2's reach temps up to 600 or so in the exhaust.
