Yeah sure i just walked out to the garage and realized that there was only one connector on the snorkel. But will it affect my performance at all? Pic is on the way ...

Alright, I think you may be talking about the boost sensor (says this ON the sensor).

Thats the ambient air temp. sensor in the snorkel. Just undo the connector to get the snorkel out of the car and then remove the sensor when you clean the snorkel.

Push in on the green part and it will pop right off. Yet another reason to hate 99's.

Jeez dude its a connector. If the tab does not want to press in by hand use some pliers.

Well here is the case now my connector by the purp sticker pops out with ease when its pushed inwards. But i did the same to the one on the snorkel and the green part does not ****ing pop out now its stuck poped in and the connector just moves around. I have tried plyers but my car has abs so its way to ****ing crowded.

Take off the upper part of the intake between the air box and the throttle... then you would have a direct shot at the connector.

Wait, don't go to the stealer. You guys have not had yours out lately.
On a 99, grab the connector and pull straight back, it will pop out of the snorkel. There is a rubber grommet holding it in.
No need to undo the connector.

Ya, no need to disconnect the connector, just pull out of grommet. I'f you disconnect your sel will go on! Then you'll have to reset the ECU!
Zip tie the sensor behind the filter if you plan on putting a cone filter on.

Are you just removing the snorkel to clean it & put it back on, or are you going to put a cone filter in its place?

SEL-service engine light or CEL-check engine light

yes ive tried that, i removed the 4 golden screws that go into the airbox and i dont have the right tool to remove the last nut holding on the plastic down, i dont have a deep socket or an extention. So i guess im screwed.

Maybe you should not work on your car unless you have a proper tool set.

Its definately NOT a lack of help. Everybody helped as much as they could. The real problem is that you don't seem too mechanically inclined and you don't even have the tools to work on your car. Most people here would have had that connector off and the snorkel removed in a matter of minutes.

I had my one of my friends try to pull this thing off, he can bench over 180+ which is not uber strong but it should be enough to get a connector of right? wrong, this damn donnector is offically stuck on. The snorkel is from a junkyard and is not exactly in the best condition and is most likely not from a 99. i have tried evreything on this thing. all the other connctors on the car work and eaisly come off and require little or no effort.

dude fawk it, rip it off, your tellin me a piece of plastic is overpowering a man? a man with hoepfully lots of tools that should easily take care of it. Try pulling as hard as you can, put gloves on so you dont fawk your hands up if it comes out, and rip that SOB out.

Airbox hose??

Pretty funny post above. Was he joking??

Question. Can someone direct me to where a pic is located that shows the other side of the snokel airbox (compared to pic earlier in this thread). A little nipple sticks out and appears that it should have a vacuum line attached. Can't find the hose. Where does it go?
I just finished replacing my EGR Valve and Knock sensor (w/o removing intake) and no bloody knuckles either!
Thanks.

FYI - Search?

I am asking because apparently I do not have access to the "Search" function. Or do I? Where is it? Thanks again.
