well i have 20% tints they work great
heres a pic:
thats about as light as it gets thats like a sunny day...
wait im confused i know practicly nothing about window tints but i was informed by the people that tinted my windows that 20% was the darkest you can go legaly and 15% would be lighter than 20% or is it the other way around. Whatever i like my tints either way.

It depends on what state you live in as far as what percentage is legal. In NY, it's 35%. I had 20% and I got pulled over and had to rip the tint off my front 2 windows but I was told by the cop that the back windows can be as dark as you want. I'm currently living in FL and i'm not sure what the legal percentage is here but most cars I see, you can't even see inside the car durring the day. A kid I go to school with has a ford ranger with 5% and you can't even see inside the car at all. On top of that his winshield is tinted 15% but he told me he has a hard time seeing at night. Most people I know down here have really dark tints and the cops never mess with them but like I said it all depends on where you live. If I drove in NY with tints that dark, I'd get about a mile down the road before I got pulled over.

wow 240 is way to much you got ripped if you paid that much. Even 199 is a little high for tints but i have a lifetime guarentee against bubling, cracking, peeling, other tint flaws. I got 20% with the lifetime deal. Expect to pay around 199 i called around and thats what 3 places quoted me.
I got mine at a place called performance wheel and tire and they will tint to any darkness and it will still cost 199 they even do sunroofs for no extra charge.

dpends if you have light or dark interior (if your getting tint for the purpose somebody not ebing able to see inside your car) , anything over 30% and there is no point in getting tint. 15% rear/ 25% front two windows to play it safe for the police or 5%-10% all around if youre feeling like a rebel

I like my tint like i like my coffee
On every car i have owned it has had 5% tint all around with a 35% on the windshield...although this is not legal in most places it is a forgotten law around here with no problems...looks slick, keeps peoples eyes off of me and keeps the sun out too...

When you go to have yours stripped... make sure they CHEMICALLY strip it, otherwise you will lose ALL of your rear window defrost, it will cost more and it takes like 6-8 hours to strip the rear window with the chemicals but, you will still have rear defrost. Personally if your not wanting dark dark, I would do 20, I have 5 on mine, and am soon to put 35% mirror on the front windshield. Here is a pic of mine for an idea...

I have 13% on mine, it's dark when backing out if there's no streetlights, but the looks are well worth it since i'm hardly ever in that situation. Our Altima has 30% and it still looks hella good vs. stock. Both cars are on my cardomain.

I have a black SE with 20%. I have a new altima with 35%. I like the 20% better, especially when it is 100 outside.
Any darker than 20% will get you pulled over in a lot of places. Plus it is impossible to see at night. If you get 20% and are worried about the cops, open your sunroof cover (if you have one) and it make it look like they are not as dark in front. The back will look the same, but there are usually no laws for the rear windows.
If a cop makes you strip the fronts, a lot of shops that do illegal tint will give you a discount if you bring it back to them to get re-tinted.

What are your thoughts on tint all around except for the front windshield, looks wise? I'm thinking about going 20% all around except for the front, mainly because I hear cops are picky about that around here in NJ

In MD the legal limit is 35% for the front two windows also...but i'm leaving for college in a month and taking my car to upstate NY. The legal limit in NY is also 35% but...since im going to be keeping my MD plates/registration, can i get like 20% and will the cops leave me alone since its an out of state car?

I got 20% on side windows and rear window. Anything below 35% is illegal in TN, however I never hear anything about people getting in trouble over it. I got mine done for $165 and it has a lifetime warranty against cracks, bubbling, fading, or peeling. I like the 20%, It is harder to see inside the car, but at the same time if you are worried about cops, you can open the sunroof and it makes the tint look lighter. I still have a hard time with reversing in dark areas, even with the 20%, but I normally am not in situations where that is an issue.

I am not sure what the laws are in other states but here in Texas 35% up front and 20% in rear is the darkest legal limit.
I got 35% up front and 20% in rear and as you can see it is not real dark from the inside where you can't see out at night.
If you ever here in the Dallas area send me an email oxmartin@gmail.com and I can let you take a look at the tint.

Depending on the color of your interior,if you have a lighter shade like tan go with something like either 20% all around or 20% F -15% R Darker shades of interior should try somehing lighter 35% F 20%or15% R. The light interior reflect alot of light which makes your tint appear to be a lighter shade than what it is. I paid around $150 for mine, should have went darker in the front.

I have 20%, and living in a town with a lot of country roads and no street lights...night driving is a PITA. I feel like I'm blinded when I drive a non-tinted car though..
I paid 220 for Lumar lifetime guarenteed tint...and also the upgrade tint bs.
