Replacing Hood Struts

OK, this shouldn't be as hard as it is. I purchased some OEM hood struts from Pinicale Nissan and for some reason, can't figure out how to get the studs off the old ones to put on the new ones. Any ideas???

Read the instructions-
if no instructions, pull clip up at end of struts & pull off!
Do one side at a time.

Prop up the hood with something, unbolt the struts, and then pop out the little clip with a small flathead screwdriver. Took me about 20 minutes to do.

Yup...very easy job. You'll need a small metric or adjustable wrench to un-do the pivot ***** from the hood and fender if the struts you got came with new ones. I got a new set from Autozone for $30 that had all the hardware incl. Didn't need clips either, just pop on.

it also helps if you have a friend with you to hold up the hood.

I had the same problem, I could unbolt the struts from the car no problems.. but the OEM struts I got didn't come with the bolt, its like a ball joint and is a real b'arch to get out.. I had to dremel mine.. there was a clip but nothing would move it ... dremel it ! (or hacksaw )

(inciddentally I got my struts at sellout price from dealership, they told me the bolts would cost more to ship from japan than I paid for struts :O )

Sounds good, demo time it is. I'll also see if I can get the clip that is to hold the ball stud out of the new ones. Thanks!!!
