Hard starting wether its hot or cold

My car takes a long time to crank over its just started all off a sudden last week. I have to hold the key down longer than normal and it takes a real long time if i accidently left the AC on. What could be the probelm? I have no codes. I read the Hanes manual and it suggests MAF, ignition switch or starter. I dont want to replace all 3 at the same time. Has someone had this problem beofre? Which 1 was it?

If the engine is turning over and giving a quick and strong spin on the motor, you can probably eliminate the ignition switch and the starter. This would also prolly eliminate the charging system. Might be a good idea to check the charging system on the vehicle just to verify this. If you ever experience a dead spot or a time in which you turn your key and nothing happens... then you turn your key again and the motor kicks over... it is prolly the ignition switch. Doesn't seem like that is the issue you are encountering though. I'd look for an issue that may not always set off a code such as an o2 sensor or cam position sensor... you can check the timing on these by the way and it could clue you to a possible problem. You could also have something like a bad coil or spark plug. Maybe even a bad fuel filter. It will take some research on your end to track down the issue. First make sure you have fuel delivery and spark... if those are ok, then you can proceed with the search to find what the issue may actually be. Remember to start with the basics and do not forget to rule out the obvious items first. Sometimes you tend to look a little harder than you need to and the issue will escape you. Good luck in finding your issue!!!

Glass? Silk? What?

I sometimes have this problem, especially if the AC is on while starting. Charging system is good w/ a optima yellow top. Im startig to think its a spark or injector issue.

Well yesterday i went to go get gas and when i went to go start the car back up i got nothing not even a click so i had to call AAA and get the car towed to my house. I got up early this morning and bought a starter from autozone $145. Put it in in 20 mins and it fired right up.
