Sorry to hear about your misfortune and glad you and your cousin are ok.

Don't be hoodwinked by the insurance company. Pay for an independent appraisal if you think it will help. I did that many years ago and got more money out of ICBC.

Don't take their first offer. Negotiate, negotiate, negotiate.

Take your time finding a suitable replacement if at all possible.

damm bro, i hate seeing this happen to nice rides. i feel you ( back in 03 my clean accord was totalled, i chased the dude down to wreck his face in, no joke-he had on insurance, i hope she does, fight em for every penny) ) your maxima was very nice and clean. man....at least your ok, when it comes down to it, its a car, your get another one im sure ( like a 5th egn 6 speed as stated) not sure about your insurance co., but dont let em get you for nothing (you had a good amount of cash in it) hopefully we will see you again on the org. all i can say is good luck man. i feel ya. later

Thanks for the well wishes guys. I have been on these forums years before I got my 4th gen, because for a very long time I had always wanted a 4th gen. To be honest, I never really liked the 5th gen in comparison to my car, and always thought that the 4th gen was the prime example of a Maxima.

I gotta say though that the stillen kit is one tough b'astard. The front lip escaped pretty much perfectly other than a minor scrape at the bottom:

I'll start a bidding war like you wouldn't believe on that whole Stillen kit... but I realize the insurance company may want to scrap it if they are paying you for it... good luck getting your money's worth out of everything...

DAMN that front lip is tough!!! after seeing the front end I wish the whole car was made out of urethane

Dude,
Like so many others have said... You're car was gorgeous... always one of my favorites on the .org.
I wish you best of luck with all the insurance stuff you're having to go through, and hope that no physical problems occur later on for you.
My prayers go out to you.

Mike

dayam that sucks! I know it hurts, and what sucks more is that insurance wont give you as much for the car as it is worth to you. at least you and your buddy are ok.

sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident, you had a maxima that I think many of us looked towards for inspiration in our modification.

btw, are you going to be parting anything off? especially interested in suspension.

good luck dealing with insurance
