it says respray, so I am guessing it is staying pebble beige. Painting it another color would cost a lot more than $1100.

ya but it also says this in his sig:

'97 GXE Pebble Beige(YUCK)
and if he did ALL the prep work, it could be done for 1100$

1100 would be tough for a different color because of the engine bay, jams, etc. When i worked at my friends shop he charged alot more than that when cars came in pre-prepped and stripped (ie no motor).

of course with the paint we used (PPG 99% of the time, depending on color/app) we ended up re-prepping the car to prevent subpar paint job from the owners subpar prep work.

Depends on the outcome of the paint, type of paint, etc. For example depending on the color you may do one car in Dupont, and another in PPG. The color and vehicle may be identical but based on prep, conditions, the paint itsself, etc may require more clear and wet sanding to get the finish you want. Sometimes you get lucky and you only need 2 coats. I've seen as much as 6 used but the painter was amateur and trying to cover his mistakes.

I used to hate my pebble beige max, but now that I see what can bee done to it in terms of modding, I have to say, beige is pretty hot.

You probably have another paint code...sunlit sand or something.

What was wrong with your paint before? Excessive chips, scratches through the color coat, etc? I guess I'm asking if there was a reason this car was treated to a respray instead of a good polish/corrective detail (which would have made it look great, if the above mentioned problems weren't there anyways). Looks good nonetheless, pics of your diy dent repair?
