hood pins issue

hood pins issue

i just had my cf hood put on and i drove it for a day w/out pins and no problems... i got the pins put in and they work and look great but they squeak like a bastard... anyone else have that prob and /or have a solution??

how do they squeak? does this occur all the time or just occasionally? be more specific please.

its all the time... like when im driving the air moves the hood up and down b/c its so light and it squeaks and when i go over bumps it squeaks even louder... i figured out it was from the hood b/c if i put my hand on the front of the hood and push down and lift up it makes the same squeaky noise... sounds similar to a suspension squeak

The pins are probably rubbing on the metal peice mounted to the hood. This will make them squeak.

agreed. my hoods did that on my 3rd gen max. I ended up drilling out the meatl piece slighty more to allow some clearance. It is hard since the 4th gen hood is more curved at the front. good luck with that cause it was really annoying

is there anyonther way besides drilling out the metal?? like some sorta tape or felt of somethin that would keep the metal from rubbing but would still look normal

Try a little bearing grease.
