Where is Coolant Temp Sensor

Where is Coolant Temp Sensor

Can any one please tell me the location of ECTS? a picture would be very helpful

Also does 4th Gen's have PNP switch, if so where is it located?

Park/Neutral switch is in the bottom of the trans on a 5-speed. Black circle plug with an electrical connector coming out of it.

Auto trans- it is located in the inhibitor switch on the front of the trans where the shift linkage cable is attached.

Related to this thread, after consulting the Service Manual, is it really necessary to partially drain the coolant before you replace the ECTS, or is it safe to let some coolant spill from the mount before you screw in the new sensor?

just open the radiator cap to un pressurize the system and you will be fine. you dont need to worry too much about a couple of drops of coolant here and there, it will be replaced by the overflow on its own.
